Welcome back to SEGCenter.  We are so blessed that you have taken the time out to visit our website.  Please take advantage of the resources available to you on the website.  In today’s blog I want to talk about purpose, specifically your child’s purpose or we can even go as far as your child’s destiny.  This is an area of discussion that I am sure you have either had with someone or had it within yourself during your times of reflection.  It is hard to think about purpose or destiny when discussing any disability or illness that afflict our children.  I think about children who battle childhood cancer and die from it.  Did they fulfill their purpose—did they reach their destiny?  In the wide spectrum of autism, do our kiddos fulfill their purpose if they are in the moderate to severe end of the spectrum?  Before I answer this question just off of my personal feelings, let us dive into what the word of God says.  Jeremiah 1:5 says “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”  Our Heavenly Father already knew us before our parents even knew us.

He sanctified us, meaning He set us apart and declared us holy. What an amazing thought. Let’s dive in deeper with Ezekiel 12:28– “Thus says the Lord God , ‘None of My words will be delayed any longer. Whatever word I speak will be fulfilled completely,’ says the Lord God.”

Joshua 21:25 says “Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed; everyone was fulfilled.”  So if you are still wondering what are God’s promises for your child and if His purpose for your child will be fulfilled, the resounding answer is YES! There is nothing that comes as a surprise to our Heavenly Father.  He doesn’t sleep nor slumber and His will for our lives will always always always come to pass.  Rest on this today my companions!

I pray this encourages you.

May God’s peace and grace surround you all!

God bless you!
