My love for the arts

So I have to share this message I just heard.  As you guys know I love art.  I love seeing beautiful paintings but when there is a painting that really speaks to you, well then, that is another story.  The above painting is called Checkmate, painted by Friedrich Moritz August Retzsch dated August 18, 1888.  The painting depicts two chess players, one of which is Satan who has an arrogant smirk on his face, and the other player is a man who appears defeated.

If Satan wins the chess match, he wins the man’s soul.  The legend behind this painting was a chess champion visited the museum where this painting was hanging and noticed something very important.  Although Satan thought he was winning, he was in fact not winning.

chess

The man who thought he was losing was in fact not losing.  According to the remaining chess pieces, the king, the most important piece of all, had one more move left which would make him the winner of the game. WOW.  Isn’t that powerful?

How often do we come so close to our breakthrough that if only we would keep pressing forward and keep praying and believing that victory will be ours?  Let me encourage you today, that Our God has NEVER lost a battle.

autism journey

I don’t know where you are in the journey of autism.  Your child may be completely non-verbal, your child may display aggressive behaviors, your child may be battling other complications associated with ASD.  I don’t know–but I know this, my God has NEVER failed me!  So praise your way through the battle and declare as it is written in Deuteronomy 20:4 “For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.”  So stand in victory for your family.  I pray this truly touches you.

May God bless you!

Love you all,

M.J.
