Definition of autism

According to the CDC 1 in 59 children are identified with having ASD. Autism Speaks website defines Autism “as a broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech, and nonverbal communication.” If one looks really closely at this definition, we can say that we “normal” individuals, who have not been diagnosed with autism, can at times have difficulties communicating and interacting socially, depending on the environment we find ourselves in. We, too, can be on the spectrum if we have these difficulties that we have not yet addressed. I always tease my family, friends, colleagues, and associates that we all have some level of autism, but some of us just manage it in different ways…please laugh. Now your child is 1 out of the 59, what happens to your faith as a Christian believer?

Bible verse: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.  Proverbs 3:5-6

Hello world!  Happy New Year.  I am so grateful you are taking time out of your busy life to visit SEG Center.  We are an organization whose mission is to support families with spiritual and education tools needed to venture through autism.  We do that as ONE center, ONE family and ONE body in Christ.  We stand on God’s word knowing His promises are YES and AMEN.

What challenges have you faced?

As we enter into this new decade, I encourage you to reflect on the past decade of life.  What challenges have you faced?  What victories have you had?  Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us to “TRUST the Lord with ALL of our heart.”  Webster’s dictionary defines trust as a firm belief in the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something.  That is powerful.  Whether in your lowest valley…TRUST.  Even in your highest mountain…TRUST.  Some of you reading this message may be in the darkest seasons of your life.  Others may be in a season of supernatural blessing.  Wherever you are God, tells us to TRUST HIM.  Whatever circumstance you face, don’t lean on your own understanding of the situation, but, TRUST that as Romans 8:28 says “And we KNOW that ALL things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”  So, we can TRUST that ALL things will work out for our good.  We can rest on that promise.  So as we have entered into 2020 let’s commit ourselves to trusting God because at the end of the day He knows best anyway.

Prayer: Thank you Lord for your son Jesus Christ.  Thank you for bringing us to this new year.  Thank you for being faithful and ordering each of our steps.  Please remove any spirit of doubt, anxiety, depression and unbelief from my heart.  I commit myself to you and I declare that you are my King.  I put all my trust in you knowing that you will always work things out for my good.  In Jesus’s mighty name I pray.  Amen.

I pray that God’s peace and grace that surpasses all understanding will guide us this 2020 as we continue to stand on His promises.

God bless you and your family!
